How to care for underwear?

Just as many women wear poorly selected underwear, its appearance and wear often leave much to be desired. This is 90% due to poor care, too frequent use and poor storage. We advise you how to care for your underwear so that it will serve you for years.

How to extend the life of your bra?

Taking care of our underwear starts with the three-bra rule, according to which we should have at least three bras of one cut, style, color, etc. We wear one, relax the second and wash the third. Remember, don’t wear the same bra day after day. After one day, we let it rest and put it in a drawer. Delicate elastic fibers provide the strength to support the bust. Thanks to them, the circumference band works and stretches. Unfortunately, these elastic threads do not like high temperatures, which weaken them and cause them to crack or crumble. If we put our bra aside after a whole day of wearing, the elastic fibers will relax and return to their original state. This way, the bra will last much longer. A good quality bra can be worn for about 200 days and three bras will keep it in good condition for at least two years.

How to care for underwear – How to wash a bra?

Unlike panties, it is best to wash bras at least once every few uses. Most underwear manufacturers recommend hand washing and it is impossible to disagree with this. A bra is a delicate and extremely complicated creation. To maintain the elasticity of the circuit, which, as we know, plays a key role, it should be washed by hand at a low temperature. We do not wring it out, but we gently squeeze out the water. The underwear should dry on its own. If we decide to use a washing machine at our own risk, choose a super gentle washing cycle. We put the bra in a mesh bag or, even better, in a special ball. We absolutely do not spin it to prevent the underwires from coming out, and we do not dry it in a washing machine or on a radiator so as not to damage the elastic fibers. The bath temperature should not exceed 30 degrees C. We do not use powder for washing because it is too aggressive and difficult to rinse, and the underwear has close and direct contact with the skin. It is best to use liquid for delicate fabrics or specially dedicated liquids for washing underwear.

Remember that washing in a washing machine at too high a temperature destroys elastic fibers (they crack and break), which are exposed to destruction every day by stretching and heating them while wearing them. By law, the manufacturer may reject a complaint if the bra was maintained contrary to the instructions.

How to store bras?

Improper storage of underwear may, like improper washing, lead to deformation. If you don’t have a special underwear cabinet, a chiffonier or a chest of drawers with seven drawers called a weekly drawer, create at least a separate drawer or shelf in the wardrobe for your underwear. It is also worth investing in special boxes or separators that will allow you to better organize the space and protect your underwear. Place padded bras one after the other, unbuttoned, so that the circumference straps do not crease on the cups. The second method is to fold the bras, but very carefully placing one cup on top of the other without turning it inside out. Both cups must be upside down. The situation is different in the case of soft bras, which can be safely folded in half. All of these rules should also apply to swimwear. It is worth mentioning here that costumes, unlike bras, should be washed after each use. They must not be dried without washing them thoroughly or at least rinsing them after leaving the pool or returning from sunbathing. Substances added to the pool water or sun protection cosmetics left on the surface of the material may destroy the fibers or discolor the color. And since we’re traveling on holiday, let’s also remember to pack our underwear carefully. The same rules for folding bras apply here as in lingerie rooms. Bras do not prefer the bottom of a suitcase, much less the proximity of shoes or other rigid elements.
